The Courtship

Jim and I met in 2005, at the time we were working together at a pizza parlor.  We became friends, but mostly hung out at work.  We both secretly had crushes on each other, but were too shy to say anything.  In the Spring of 2006 Jim got a new job, and I didn't get to see him that often.  In July, we went to the drive-in movies with a group of friends- and this is the day that I fell in love with him.  We started dating and were basically inseparable. 

The Proposal

For our two year anniversary Jim took me kayaking. After a while on the lake we decided to park the kayaks on an island so we could swim at the sand bar.  I was trying to bungee cord together the kayaks when Jim touched my arm and pulled me around. I turned around and he was down on one knee (in the water) with the ring box open.  He had a beautiful speech about how I made him happy and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.  He asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.  With tears in my eyes I said yes.  We love being engaged, and are planning a May 2010 wedding.
